Had a lot of problems recently with the sound in Spotify suddenly muting/disappearing in the middle of listening to music, although the progress bar of the song I was listening to kept on moving. I am using Debian and using Spotify via wine.
Found the solution though which was quite simple:
Run winecfg, go to the Audio tab and select the following settings under the DirectSound settings:
Hardware accelration: Emulation
Def. Sample rate: 44100
Def. Bits per sample: 16
Turn OFF Driver Emulation.
Hope this helps :)
Heh, i had the same problem.
ReplyDeleteI just assumed spotify wasn't working well with wine so i installed despotify and forked it.
After spotify updated and despotify wouldn't work forked i had to try to get spotify working.
Turned out my wine version were as old as dinosaurs ^__^
I found myself stuck in the same situation.. The Hardware emulation didn't do it all =P.. I had to change the driver itself.. It's as simple as clicking on checkboxes.. =P.. If the ALSA driver don't work, try the OSS driver.. The other settings is as mentioned above.. Hope this will help anyone stuck without a solution..
